A Look at Reverse Mortgages

"Too Good to be True."

That’s exactly what every one of my reverse clients has said to me…including my own parents!

Once you become more educated about reverse mortgages and how they can truly benefit you (like allowing you to purchase that new dream home and never make a monthly payment!) you too will be saying the same thing my parents and many others are saying!

So how would you like to sell your current home (that may be paid for) put down roughly 50% towards that beautiful brand new home with all the bells and whistles you’ve always wanted, but couldn’t afford…and never make a mortgage payment?! It’s true. While you do pay your property taxes, your homeowners insurance, and any associated HOA dues – you never have to make a monthly mortgage payment -- as long as you live! 

You are required to occupy the home as your primary residence of course, as well, you must be at least 62 years of age. A spouse under 62? No problem, they can be added to the title and they too would be able to continue living in the home as long as they live!

The key to anything in life that you’re unfamiliar with is education – once you do educate yourself more on reverse mortgages, I know you’ll want to consider one in the future.
