REALTOR Safety Month | Safety Course Recap

In honor of REALTOR Safety Month, Reliant Homes and our preferred lender, Element Funding, hosted a REALTOR Safety CE Class at our Statham community, Fairfield Springs. Our instructor, Sgt. Allen Martin with the Covington Police Department, presented practical tools to help one stay safe, whether if they are showing a home or in any other vulnerable positions. Not only did these tools include preparation tips, such as being aware of your surroundings and parking your car in a way to make an easy escape, but these tools included physical tips. These physical tips included how to locate pressure points on an attacker and how to use these points and what lethal and non-lethal weapons a REALTOR can carry with them all the time. 

With 22 REALTORS murdered in Georgia from 1997 to 2002, the threat to a REALTORS’ life is very serious, unfortunately. We truly appreciated Sgt. Martin’s advice and willingness to come speak to our class regarding preventative measures and escape tactics.
