Homemade Activities

April 1, 2020

With most of us staying home these days, one way to pass the time is to create space for memories to be made. We asked our agents to share some fun and creative ways they have been using to keep their little loved ones busy and engaged while at home. Check out our top favorite suggestions that you can do at home right now!

Our Oconee agent, Chrissy, has loved seeing how her community is coming together and sharing awesome ideas to keep learning and creativity in their homes. Here are two of her favorite ideas:

The Pizza Challenge

This activity calls for an assorted amount of edible items, personal pizzas, paper, a hat, and a pen or marker. Assign your assorted edible items a number by writing it on their package or somewhere near the item. After you assign these numbers, write those numbers on a piece of paper, cut them into pieces and place the numbers in a hat. Each person takes a turn drawing a number and then puts the item that is associated with that number on their pizza!

Say Thanks

Create cards to send encouragement to your local medical personnel, law enforcement, and other community heroes that are working to keep us safe during this time.

One part of our Winder sales duo, Nichole, has loved having her family together to create new memories! Here are a few of their favorite activities:

It’s A Date!

With many streaming services offering new releases and classics now, create a family date to the movies by having popcorn and candy available to recreate a night at the movies. Also, a living room fort is not necessary, but highly recommended by Nichole and her family for these nights!

Top Chef: Family Edition

Everyone picks their favorite recipes and you can cook them throughout the week. At the end of the week, everyone gets to vote to see whose dish dominated the past days! Not only does it include the whole family, but it can be used to help kids learn some basic kitchen skills!

One of our Active Adult agents, Kelley, has enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren! Here are some of their favorite at home past times.

We Are on A Roll

Find a big roll of plain paper on the floor (we recommend not using a carpeted floor) and have a “Color Off”. Everyone is able to collaborate to create a piece of art that will be a keepsake for years to come!

Keeping it Old School

If you want to keep it simple, a game of hide-n-seek, picnics, forts, and indoor obstacle courses are perfect to keep your little ones entertained and active.

During this time, our biggest wish is that your family stays healthy and safe, and we hope these ideas will spark some new ideas you can do as a household.
